A Heat Exchanger is a specialized device that assists in the transfer of heat from one fluid to the other. The heat transfer occurs from hot fluid to a surface by a convectoin, through the wall by conduction, and then by convection from the surfaceto the cold fluid. Vapours from the final effect are condensed, heat is recovered and supplemented by the cooling water if required.
In system involving heat transfer, a Condenser is a device or unit used to condense a substance from its vapours to liquid state, typically by cool- ing it. In so doing the latent heat is given up by the substance, and will transfer to the condenser coolant.

Heat Transfer from heating medium to the material is by conduction. Efficient drying of powdery / crystalline / granular material is achieved by bringing it in direct contact with revolving cunieform hollow paddles, without using any gas as heting medium. The trough is uniformly heated by passing heating medium through the jacket. This ensures that the entire material in the dryer is in full contact with the total heat transfer area during its pas- sage through the dryer.
The SSE Paddle Dryer can be made of any weldable material of construction. For abrasive materials, the wear parts can be hard-faced or stellited.
